Microinsemionation and pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD)
Resumé of recommendations
In the report The Danish Council of Ethics takes a stance on a number of problem issues relating to the use of microinsemination and pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). For example whether or not it is ethically acceptable to use PGD for the purpose of preventing a child with a severe and possibly hereditary disorder from entering the world. Or whether or not it is acceptable to use PGD to examine embryos for histocompatibility purely with a view to making it possible to donate to a sick sister or brother
