Members of the Danish Council of Ethics
The Council consists of 17 members; a mixture of experts and laypeople with publicly substantiated knowledge of the ethical, cultural and social questions of importance to the work of the Council.
The Minister for the Interior and Health appoints the members according to the following rules: 1) Nine members shall be appointed by the Parlamentary Committee on the Council of Ethichs. 2) Four members shall be appointed by the Minister for the Health. 3) One member shall be appointed by the Minister for the Environment. 4) One member shall be appointed by the Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries. 5) One member shall be appointed by the Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation. 6) One member shall be appointed by the Minister for Economic and Business Affairs.
Furthermore the appointments shall ensure equal representation of men and women.
